“Simply a generation ahead”

About JEF Europe

The Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) is a political youth NGO advocating for the creation of a democratic European federation as a guarantee for peace, the rule of law and human rights. JEF Europe promotes true European citizenship, works for the widening and deepening of the European Union and strives for a more just and integrated society on the European continent and beyond. Established in 1972, the organisation has more than 10,000 activists organised in over 250 national, regional and local sections in 37 countries. The ideals and aims of JEF Europe are defined in the Manifesto of Ventotene, the Political Platform and resolutions adopted by its statutory bodies.

Every day, we promote our vision of Europe through political advocacy, projects and communication activities, including:

  • street actions, demonstrations and campaigns to raise awareness of European affairs among the public;
  • dialogue and collaboration with organisations, institutions and decision-makers from across the political spectrum;
  • press releases on political matters and publishing online magazines where pro-European youth can voice their opinion;
  • training courses and seminars about European affairs for our members and interested activists;
  • meetings and exchanges fostering contacts between young Europeans.

JEF Hungary

JEF Hungary has been a national section of JEF Europe for the past few years, promoting its key values, principles and advocating the involvement of youth in politics. Our goal is to bring the EU closer to aspiring and ambitious young Hungarians and to be able to talk about issues that affect them without taboos, as well as to give them a comprehensive overview of the opportunities available to them. Providing opportunities, chances to get closer to the exciting world of politics, accentuating the EU, is what our organization and its board has been working towards recklessly.

Over the past year, we have been able to establish several professional collaborations with key Hungarian youth organizations that support our work and, like us, promote democratic principles, the importance of active citizenship, social equality and inclusion, including:

  • the Erasmus Student Network;
  • ELSA Hungary;
  • the Female Management Network;
  • the Hungarian Atlantic Council;
  • AIESEC Hungary;
  • BAGázs;
  • EDYN Hungary.

Through such collaborations we hope to guide our members towards impactful professional careers and provide them a community worth joining, not only for its great community, but the provided extensive intellectual value!
